Foot injury will keep Clowney out vs. Chiefs

A foot injury will keep Texans’ pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney out of Saturday’s wild card game vs. the Chiefs, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reported.

Clowney had been listed as questionable with a foot injury suffered two weeks ago that also kept him out of the Texans’ regular-season finale.

Clowney was a limited participant in practice Thursday but did not participate in a Friday walkthrough. Wilson reported that John Simon will start in his place.

Clowney recorded 4.5 sacks in 13 games this season.

Dude, it’s the playoffs. And they drafted you #1 overall. And you aren’t going to play? Disgraceful.

Fragile little guy. Suck it up and play

So thankful that the Falcons didn’t/couldn’t throw a bunch of draft picks away to trade for this guy.

Ok 2nd 1/2 of the year but Clowney is ok for a 6th rounder but no 1st pick in the draft

The hype doesn’t matter when you can’t stay healthy

Hopefully he won’t get arrested for impersonating an NFL #1 draft pick.

I bet the Texans are second guessing picking this guy. There were a lot of reports about his commitment to training and playing before the draft. Looks like those reports might have been right.

I didn’t think he was worthy of being the 1st overall pick…but I sure thought he would have more than 5 total sacks in his 1st two years.

Wait, so clearly this injury and lack of playing this weekend after practicng this week means there is some animosity between him and the team and vice versa,so he is on his way out of Houston…just like Lynch.

Bust. Three sacks your last year in college does not a good pro make….But, he was great in the underwear Olympics and had a great tackle in college….

Any one who saw his last college game (against Wisconsin) would not have picked this guy first. Badgers picked up 8,9 yards every time they ran his way with just an average offensive line. Not to mention he is more fragile than glass.

The maddening thing about him is he shows flashes of dominance with his speed blowing by blockers or with his power destroying double teams, and a few minutes later the camera catches him walking into the locker room without any previous signs of him being injured. Luckily for my Texans, Mercilus has out performed him all year. And for all the brilliant commentators who new he would be a bust and would never take him in the 1st round, EVERY GM had him #1 on their big board and EVERY team would have drafted him at 1.

The Old Ball Coach tried to tell you.

This is kind of a big game. Must be a serious injury. You never know when – or if – you get to the playoffs again.

Yet JJ Watt plays with a broken hand…

  18. jh500 says: Jan 9, 2016 2:55 PM

Imagine JJ Watt and Khalil Mack on the same team? Instead the Texans got this little baby that cant play through pain.

Watched a lot of SC games. “One Hit Wonder” who took plays off. Spurrier knew.

I hoped some of JJ’s work ethic and toughness would rub off on Clowney.

One good play in his entire career got him drafted #1. Everyone knew he was soft, lazy, wanted the signing bonus and that was that.

Hope Houston releases Clowney, what a 1st round bust he’s been.
