The Giants are casting a wide net in their search to replace Tom Coughlin, and are looking at another veteran option.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Former Falcons coach Mike Smith will interview with the Giants Monday.
Smith did a good job building the Falcons into perennial playoff contenders, winning 56 games in his first five seasons there. But winning 10 in his last two seasons there convinced them it was time for a change. He also interviewed with the Dolphins, as he looks to get back in the game after a year off.
The 56-year-old Smith joins a list of candidates which was reduced by one when Adam Gase was hired by the Dolphins Saturday. Gase interviewed with the Giants last week.
The Giants interviewed Doug Marrone on Saturday, and have also talked to coordinators Steve Spagnuolo and Ben McAdoo, along with Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin.
