The Bears are striving for continuity on offense, and toward that end they’ve promoted quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains to offensive coordinator.
That move has been expected since it became clear that last year’s offensive coordinator, Adam Gase, was likely to leave for a head-coaching opportunity. Gase was named head coach of the Dolphins on Saturday.
The 35-year-old Loggains has spent one year on the Bears’ staff, and in that year Jay Cutler had a career-high passer rating. The Bears have indicated that they plan to build their offense around Cutler next season.Prior to working for the Bears, Loggains spent one year as quarterbacks coach for the Browns and six years as an assistant for the Titans, including two seasons as offensive coordinator.
