Interviews for head coaching jobs have been going on around the league for the last week and the Dolphins became the first team to hire a new coach when they sealed a deal with Adam Gase over the weekend, but another job could still come open in the near future.

The Lions said their new General Manager would make a call on coach Jim Caldwell’s future in Detroit and that decision can be made now that Detroit has hired Bob Quinn to fill that position. A meeting involving Quinn, Caldwell and others from the Lions is expected to take place on Monday

Caldwell was able to get the Lions on track after a 1-7 start and they finished the year 6-2 in second half, but Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported over the weekend that Caldwell isn’t safe and adds Monday that Caldwell’s chances of making it to a third year in Detroit don’t “look good for him.”

Quinn is scheduled to meet the media for a press conference at 2 p.m. ET on Monday. One way or another, it seems we may get an answer on Caldwell’s status once that session gets underway.
