The Dolphins got a head start on remaking their roster for next season on Tuesday.
The team announced that they have waived tackle Jason Fox in their first roster move since Adam Gase became the team’s head coach.
Fox joined the Dolphins in 2014 and played nine games with the team. He re-signed with them last offseason and moved into the starting lineup at right tackle when Ja’Wuan James injured his toe. Fox made 11 starts overall, but the team obviously found his work lacking to make a move at this early point in the offseason.
Fox was set to make $1.28 million in base salary 2016 with a cap charge of just over $1.54 million. They’ll get $1.38 million of that cap space back to use on a different backup tackle or anything else they might desire later in the offseason.
