Bill Belichick gets a little salty over Chandler Jones questions

nbc105-9-15-98-snl

As you might imagine, Patriots coach Bill Belichick was in no mood to discuss defensive end Chandler Jones and his unusual week this morning.

Jones made headlines by walking into a police station and ending up in the hospital, because of a reaction to what was reportedly synthetic marijuana.

Belichick opened his press conference by deferring to the team’s initial statement on the matter (which really didn’t say anything) and insisted the health and safety of his players was his first priority.

But it got really interesting when he was asked whether the situation would change the way he used Jones this week against the Chiefs.
We’ll find out Saturday,” he said, via Mike Reiss of ESPN.com. “I could just Xerox you a copy of game-plan and you can send it over to Kansas City.”

At least he didn’t offer to SnapFace it.

While Belichick can duck and defer all he wants, Jones will remain a story, because of his importance to the team and the curious nature of the story.

And making copies with the Billster isn’t going to change that.
