Chargers CB Verrett added to Pro Bowl

Chargers cornerback Jason Verrett was named to the Pro Bowl Thursday.

Verrett replaces Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis, who will miss the Pro Bowl due to injury.

Verrett led the Chargers with three interceptions in 2015, returning one for his first NFL touchdown. He also had 47 tackles and 11 pass breakups.

A first round pick in 2014, Verrett becomes the first Chargers cornerback to play in the Pro Bowl since Antonio Cromartie in 2008.

Solid corner & will be a sleeper in the league. Just seems to be a little fragile in his career so far.

They should announce the pro bowl roster and then have them go to Hawaii for various skills competitions. By the time they replace all the “injured” players almost half of the league is named to the pro bowl. Then their agents go to the team and demand money because their client is a pro bowler. The people that actually watch that garbage will watch the skills competition. Ditch the game.

Admittedly I saw little and heard even less about this dude before now. That being said, I’m not sure how anyone on that squad qualified for any postseason awards other than a razzy.

I have not watched much of Verrett this year but from what I have seen he is a decent player, but there is no way on God’s green earth that he outperformed Trumaine Johnson this year.
