Jaguars coach Gus Bradley is being deliberate, and apparently was serious about taking more control of his defense based on his search for a new coordinator.

According to Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union, the Jaguars are interviewing Lou Anarumo for the job today.

Anarumo was the interim defensive coordinator in Miami this year after head coach Joe Philbin and defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle were fired. He was previously their secondary coach. The 49-year-old Anarumo joined the Dolphins in 2012 after spending 23 years coaching in college.

The only other Jaguars candidate to this point was 36-year-old Marquand Manuel, who has spent one year as secondary coach in Atlanta.

The report also says the Jaguars aren’t looking at coaches on a playoff team, meaning they’re not waiting on someone from one of the eight remaining teams to replace the fired Bob Babich.
