Tight end Rob Gronkowski returned to practice for the Patriots on Friday after missing Thursday’s session to get treatment on his knee.

Gronkowski, who the Patriots say is also dealing with a back injury, was a limited participant in the team’s final session before Saturday’s game against the Chiefs. Gronkowski has been listed as questionable to play in the game, although reports from New England this week are that he’s expected to be in the lineup.

He has plenty of company in the questionable section of the injury report. Eleven other Patriots drew the same designation, including wide receiver Julian Edelman and defensive end Chandler Jones.

Edelman is expected to play for the first time since breaking a bone in his foot in Week 10 while Jones, who is listed with abdomen and toe injuries, made headlines this week for making a shirtless Sunday morning trip to a Foxboro police station looking for help. There have been reports that Jones was under the influence of synthetic marijuana and police reported smelling burnt marijuana at his home, but coach Bill Belichick wasn’t sharing whether the incident would affect his status.

Wide receiver Danny Amendola, tight end Scott Chandler, cornerback Justin Coleman, defensive back Nate Ebner, linebacker Jonathan Freeny, linebacker Dont’a Hightower, defensive end Rob Ninkovich, tackle Sebastian Vollmer and tackle LaAdrian Waddle are the other questionables. All but Freeny got in at least a limited practice on Friday.

Guard Tre’ Jackson has been ruled out with a knee injury and quarterback Tom Brady is probable to play after tweaking his ankle in Week 17.
