The Patriots are pouring it on.
Chiefs running back Knile Davis fumbled early in the third quarter, handing the ball to the Patriots and setting up a surgical drive in which Tom Brady marched the team down the field, ending with a touchdown pass to Rob Gronkowski.
It was Gronk’s second touchdown catch of the game and the eighth postseason touchdown catch of his career, the most postseason touchdowns for any tight end in NFL history.
It also may have been the last nail in the Chiefs’ coffin. Although there’s still plenty of time left in the third quarter, the Patriots’ 21-6 lead is starting to feel insurmountable. The Chiefs just don’t seem to have an answer for Brady and Gronk.
