The Texans have hired Larry Izzo as their special teams coach.

Izzo won three Super Bowl rings as a player with the Patriots, where he was voted a special teams captain nine times. He comes to the Texans from the Giants, where he’d been assistant special teams coach since 2011.

It’s a homecoming for Izzo, who played college football at Rice.

Izzo had 275 special teams tackles and was voted to the Pro Bowl three times during his 14-year playing career.
