Panthers jump out to big, quick lead on Seahawks

Ryan Tannehill, Luke Kuechly AP

Jonathan Stewart’s back, in a big way.

The Panthers running back just gave his side a quick 7-0 lead over the Seahawks, with a 4-yard touchdown run.

It wasn’t nearly as dramatic as his first carry of the day, as he took the game’s first snap 59 yards, with Richard Sherman running him down at the end to save a touchdown.

Stewart’s had four weeks off to rest a foot injury, but has shown no signs of it so far.

And it didn’t take long for the Panthers to add to it, with a Luke Kuchly interception return for a score on Seattle’s first chance to answer.

Bad start for the hawks maybe I missed something but why wasn’t Kam chancellor out their on defense? Great start Carolina definitely captured the initially momentum and scoring period is hard on the hawks so take advantage of the game.

    Go hawks

The Seahawks really struggle with teams that have legitimate NFL QBs. They won’t be able to stroll away with W by just scoring 10 points – like they did last week.

Why in the world would they play Lynch? For comedic purposes? He’s DONE! Michael would be a wayyy better option. He likely whined his way to play and now the playcalling will cater to crybaby. Lol.
Rusty as heck and making me laugh. Same way Lynch laughed after SB loss and will laugh after this loss. He mocks own team. What a team guy.

Watch, in a few, once Car scores again, you’ll see Seattle getting frustrated and picking Lil fights. Just wait and see.

    —————————-
Seriously? Plenty of pro and amateur athletes use those masks in all kinds of environments. They don’t use them because they may be playing or competing in high altitude. They wear it to train their muscles and lungs to work with less oxygen with the thinking being that once they compete in regular altitude they will function better. I’m not sure I agree with the science behind it but it would be nice if you understand the reason behind somethin before attacking.

Really? What makes you think the declining Packers will even BE in the playoffs next year? Presumptuous don’t you think?

Carolina steamrolling. I don’t have a dog in this hunt but I was sure hoping for a more competitive game to watch.

SMH at the fans of couch teams strutting about like they and theirs have accomplished anything this season. If your team is sitting at home, they’re a bigger laughingstock than even the Seahawks.

  130. killitandeatit says: Jan 17, 2016 2:24 PM

The Vikings “missed” field goal was shorter than an extra point. Not a Viking fan but they would have been a better match up then this snooz fest.

  131. The Almighty Cabbage says: Jan 17, 2016 2:24 PM

Great Googly Moogly! I kind of thought the Seahawks would win this game, with them being as hot as they’ve been over the past several weeks. Of course this game is not yet over, but the Seahawks are in a deep, deep hole.

Then again, if any team could dig their way out of that hole, it would be Seattle. In last year’s NFCCG, the Packers didn’t just melt down; the Seahawks also had to make a number of big plays… and they did. We always hear the tired old cliches: “Bla bla bla, keep digging, never give up, trust the man next to you, bla bla bla.” The Seahawks actually did it.

I hope they manage to come back enough to make a game of it.

  132. thechickenexpress says: Jan 17, 2016 2:25 PM

It’s time for those of us who didn’t entirely buy the Panthers as an elite team to say: Holy crap.

Not surprised Carolina’s winning. But Seattle has some pedigree–and they look like they have no idea what’s happening to them. Safe to assume god didn’t bother to tell Russell Wilson what was coming?

They work for the network. The network wants viewers. Buck’s and Aikman’s job is to keep people watching.

It would run counter to that objective if Joe Buck were to say something to the effect of “fork, meet Seachicken….”

So all you are doing is picking the lesser of the two evils at this point. Do you hate Wilson and his God talk and smug attitude or Cam and his dancing in your face arrogance. Either way you’ll have to deal with it for another few weeks.

As an average fan of an NFC team you probably don’t read the posts on many of the out of division or AFC articles. If you did you would see how religion, squaw, vancouversportsbra and other associated 12’s have alienated other fan bases and understand. Heck, I have always thought highly of Carroll and admired the work John Schneider has done building that team but if the silence of the insufferable clowns that have attached themselves to the ‘Hawks can be purchased with their playoff exit then it can’t happen soon enough.

Thank you Seattle for making a 31-0 blowout into a 31-24 competitive game requiring Carolina to defend an onside kick to secure a win.

No quit in that team. Congrats to Carolina! Good luck in beating NE in the SB…Clearly, GB could have beaten AZ last night, so I’m not expecting AZ to compete against the Carolina D next week.
