Adam Gase went to Miami to get the most out of Ryan Tannehill, but he reached out to a guy he knows well for some depth.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the Dolphins have signed quarterback Zac Dysert to a future contract.

Dysert was on the Texans practice squad this year, as they cycled through quarterbacks. But he was previously in camp with the Broncos and Bears, tagging along after Gase when he was there.

A former seventh-round pick out of Miami of Ohio, Dysert will be competing for a reserve job in Miami. Backup quarterback Matt Moore is a free agent, and the Dolphins promoted Logan Thomas to their active roster late in the season.
