Panthers safety Roman Harper being confident is not news.
But the veteran safety has doubled down on last week’s (correct) claim that the Panthers were better than the Seahawks by declaring his team superior to the Cardinals as well.
“Yeah, we’re better. We’ve just got to go out there and play,” Harper said, via Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer. “I feel like we’re the best team. We’ve been the best team all year long. We’re not going to shy away from that. We’re going to continue to be who we are.”
The Panthers have operated with a confidence all year long, but Harper’s one of the few to give an overt voice to it.
Of course, he’s also one of the few Panthers with a Super Bowl ring, earned with the Saints after their 13-0 start in 2009. So if he’s proven prophetic again, we can look forward to his telling us how the Panthers are better than either the Broncos or Patriots.
