Cardinals not altering travel plans, yet

In case you haven’t heard, we’re all gonna die. The Cardinals apparently haven’t gotten the memo.

A major snowstorm is heading toward a large chunk of the country, with Charlotte among the affected areas. And Charlotte is one of those areas that doesn’t have the infrastructure to deal with a major snowstorm.

Undeterred by the fact that the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Charlotte through 7:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, the Cardinals have yet to alter their intent to fly from Arizona to Carolina on Saturday morning.

Team spokesman Mark Dalton tells PFT that the “plan to leave Phoenix late Saturday morning hasn’t been affected.”

At this point, it may be too late to accelerate the departure time. American Airlines has canceled all incoming and outgoing Charlotte flights for Friday, and it’s inevitable that cancellations will extend to Saturday. It’s possible the Cardinals may have to get creative, finding the nearest airport south of Charlotte capable of landing the team plane and closing out the trip by bus.

One way or the other, the Cardinals will get there. But there’s a chance that just enough complications could be introduced to the process to place an extra burden on the Cardinals beyond the mere fact of flying from one side of the country to the other.
