Eli Manning went before Ben Roethlisberger in the 2004 draft, but he had to wait for the Steelers quarterback to pull out of the 2016 Pro Bowl to draw an invite.

Manning has been announced as the injury replacement for Roethlisberger, who suffered a right shoulder injury in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. Roethlisberger isn’t going to need surgery to fix the torn ligaments or sprained AC joint, but he’ll have to miss the All-Star Game all the same.

It’s the fourth time that the Giants quarterback has been selected to the Pro Bowl. He was 387-of-618 for 4,432 yards, 35 touchdowns and 14 interceptions this season. The 35 touchdowns are a career high as was his 93.6 passer rating. Wide receiver Odell Beckham is the other Giant currently going to the Pro Bowl.

There will be at least one more quarterback pulling out of the game with Cam Newton and Carson Palmer facing off with a Super Bowl berth on the line this Sunday. Tom Brady has also been selected to the game, which will mean two more additions at quarterback if the Patriots beat the Broncos.
