Patriots elevate Kevin Snyder from practice squad

After the Patriots placed linebacker Jerod Mayo on injured reserve, the AFC finalists had an open roster spot. Four days later, they’ve filled it.

The team has announced that linebacker Kevin Snyder has been elevated from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.

Snyder, yet another former Rutgers player who made his way to Bill Belichick’s team, signed with the Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2015. He landed on IR, was released in October, spent time on the 49ers practice squad, and then joined New England’s practice squad last month.

Denver, I’d gather, would gladly swap Mayo for a non experienced player who just signed with the Pat’s a month ago and being promoted from the “practice squad.”

    Advantage Denver

An undrafted free agent off the practice squad.
    C J Andersen likes this!

Mayo has been playing like 8 snaps a game.

I think they’ll be ok without him.

    Likely not active tomorrow anyway…

And how will we ever survive with out Moss, Hernandez, Welker, Vereen, Wilfork, Vinatieri…etc etc?

This appears to be another case of the player having a tacit agreement with NE and then orchestrating his release in order to join NE when the need arose.

The Lions and 49ers got cheated! Cheaters!

Denver would likely trade Mayo for this kid? Haha. Mayo has been reduced to a minimal role on the team. Enjoy Collins and Hightower…

Mayo’s biggest role is as a de facto coach

He was really the 4th option in a 4 man rotation

Certain Mayo is better than a practice squad player – but don’t underestimate the type of energy this kid will bring

And Mayo will STILL be on the sideline in a coaching role, just as he was last season after his injury

This past offseason it was the departure of Revis that was going to doom us.

There was probably no greater hysteria in trollville than when Welker left. Funny how that worked out for Denver.

Do you ever stop melting down over the Patriots? Literally every single Patriots article and you’re there losing it.

    Yikes.

After tomorrow we will be down to two teams still in the hunt. We started the season with the epitaph of the Patriots written by not only the haters and trolls, but also by many in the media and in the executive offices of NFL teams.

We were told it was the Colts year, with many “experts” picking them to win super bowl 50. How many media types have admit they were wrong about deflategate, the Patriots prospects for the 2015 season, the Colts, the Ravens and Revis?

As a Patriots fan, I hope they survive tomorrow to play for the NFL championship. However, win or lose, what they have done individually and collectively this season is a year for the ages. Every true NFL looks upon Belichick, Brady and the Patriots with the utmost respect.

  24. rcosborne59 says: Jan 23, 2016 8:16 PM

He’s not going to see the field unless it’s on special teams if he’s even active for the game. The Broncos fans seem to think he’s going to be out there trying to stop them on offense. But the delusional Denver fans need to believe this because they are not going to win.

  25. longjohnsilver601 says: Jan 23, 2016 8:34 PM

I think its safe to say Dobson and Mayo are unlikely candidates for the 2016 roster. They have been filling the ranks of the injured reserve far more than being healthy (scratches)!

The Patriots are so thoroughly entrenched in the heads of the Denver players, coaching staff, fans, and media that it isn’t even funny.

What’s new. The Pats are raiding their practice squad because of injuries. Was hired a month ago. Pats have several newbies. Maybe one of these guys will be a Malcolm Butler. BB is very particular about his acquisitions. They may not be elite, but they fit his schemes. Who knows? Maybe this guy will do something cool for the team.
Some of these haters are so lame. They think needle / deflate jokes still have legs.
