Romo to have CT scan this week

Zz0wMjhmZmE5MjJjYWZhNGU3NGFkZTZjNmU3ZTY2NDhmZg== AP

When Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo last addressed his thrice-broken collarbone, he said that a plate could be surgically inserted to protect the area against future fractures. The CT scan to determine the plan for dealing with the situation will happen soon.

Via David Helman of the team’s official website, Romo said Saturday that the CT scan will happen this week.

Romo broke the bone twice in 2015, causing him to miss 12 games. Not coincidentally, the Cowboys lost 12 games.

Meanwhile, if Romo keeps having CT scans to determine the status of his collarbone, he soon may turn green, grow significantly, and become much stronger whenever he gets upset. Which actually could help the Cowboys in their neverending quest to not see ass but to instead get them some gloryhole.

Well I don’t think they will go 4-12 again. They make the right moves in the draft and free agency this team has nothing to lose next year. I’m not really why people hate Romo so much he’s actually a real classy guy.

Can’t unsee Romo hulking up and… Thanks (but no thanks) for that visual.

  3. macgee10 says: Jan 23, 2016 5:00 PM

    Not really sure why**

  4. silverandblack052099 says: Jan 23, 2016 5:07 PM

    Romo is done!

And Jerry Jones deserves every bit of the terrible franchise he’s going to have over the next few years. It’s called karma.

  5. fumblenuts says: Jan 23, 2016 5:13 PM

With his chronic back problems and collarbone issues he might wonder if he’ll have trouble walking when he’s 50?

  6. mackcarrington says: Jan 23, 2016 5:14 PM

    …and mild-mannered Tony Romo becomes COW-HULK!!!!!

  7. skawh says: Jan 23, 2016 5:26 PM

    best wishes in Romo’s recovery.

Now, inquiring minds want to know, will Manziel be his backup?

  8. Seprix says: Jan 23, 2016 5:37 PM

Poor Tony Romo, he doesn’t deserve to be sacrificed to the whims of Jerry. I can just imagine Jerry right now, drugging Romo and having some reconstructive surgery done while he’s unconscious, making him Terminator 2000 or something like that. Why not? Jerry wants to win, and Romo is his puppet to get Jerry to the Super Bowl.

  9. ballbreaker707 says: Jan 23, 2016 5:38 PM

Dude is going to be a mess at 50.

  10. cmich2006 says: Jan 23, 2016 5:39 PM

For your own health concerns please shut it down Tony. Too many players don’t know when to hang it up for the sake of their future health.

  11. sgtr0c says: Jan 23, 2016 5:42 PM

I am an Eagles fan, I “Wolfe” hate Romo and the Cowboys. But that said, get better Tony, I want to see you at full health in 2016. Good luck in whatever gets you back in making the NFC East decent a decent division again next year. I am hoping Doug, Jason, Ben, and Jay make it fun again. Get well!

  12. tonebones says: Jan 23, 2016 5:43 PM

This is the perfect year to have a low draft pick. There are a few good QBs coming out, and maybe even 2 or 3 great ones. I can’t say I’m confident that the Cowboys will make the right move, but at least they’ll have the opportunity.

  13. spitfisher says: Jan 23, 2016 5:47 PM

with Romo due over 20 million next year and 25 after that

Romo should be dropped off at nearest browns, Bills training camp with most of his salary pickup by Jerruh

  14. dblack25 says: Jan 23, 2016 5:51 PM

As a die-hard Eagles fan, I dislike the Cowboys. But I agree Romo is a class guy. Broken bones will heal. I hope he comes back 100%. But I do love to see Jerry make a fool out of himself year after year.

  15. booboo31 says: Jan 23, 2016 5:53 PM

Article is kind of rude but anyways. Hope Romo
Is ok but this last season shows how BAD that dummy Garret is. It showed the entire team revolved around Romo. No coaching ability to adapt to the circumstances. Jones is truly out to lunch.

  16. floratiotime says: Jan 23, 2016 5:56 PM

Always difficult when your career is winding down.

  17. trainwrecksryan says: Jan 23, 2016 5:57 PM

Cam Newton will win the MYP and that’s fine, but no one has proven how valuable he is to his team than Tony Romo; unfortunately he has proven it by sitting out most of the season and watching the Cowboys go up in flames when he’s out.

  18. jsmith563 says: Jan 23, 2016 6:10 PM

they should have sat him the first time with their record but they had no pro backup (whose fault is that)? not only has jerry ruined Romo’s football career but golf as well. he deserves to be paid, no Dallas fan but always a fan of “gladiator”.

  19. shaggytoodle says: Jan 23, 2016 6:15 PM

The window is closing pretty fast on Dallas, Witten is getting up there in age, and Dez has shown he is only as good as the QB throwing the ball to him. he broke 65 yards in one game last season. There is going to be a bit of a drop off from whomever went in for Romo, this isn’t like Fitzpatrick replacing Geno Smith. but the true great WRs it doesn’t matter like Fitzgerald for the majority of his career, and Steve Smith. and while coaching may have had a bit to do with the struggle, but its the GMs job acquire talent, and while they have a very good Oline, that is one of the few areas of strength. JJ is AWFUL at drafting, since 2009 he has drafted 2 pro bowlers outside of the first round and one of them is playing for Philly, while the other has injury problems.

The next time this team is great will be when JJ finally decides to hire a GM

  20. gurnblanstonreturns says: Jan 23, 2016 6:20 PM

This news broke after Romo’s message to his doctor was intercepted – 3 times!

  21. allmyexsliveintexas says: Jan 23, 2016 6:21 PM

They will scan his head and they will find nothing.

  22. jjmcowboyup says: Jan 23, 2016 6:26 PM

Ass and glory hole in nbc sports talk? Only in America. Cowboys win the nfc east of romo doesn’t get hurt.

  23. oldhuskerfan says: Jan 23, 2016 6:40 PM

Actually I like and admire Romo. It’s the Cowboys as a team that I despise. Arrogant, obnoxious and overall annoying. They’ve had more criminals on the team than the Bungles and Raiders put together.

  24. abninf says: Jan 23, 2016 6:49 PM

I broke mine once and had a rod put in. It almost got me medically discharged from the army. It will hurt forever. Granted, mine was a compound fracture, but Romo has to be hurting.

  25. jpj13 says: Jan 23, 2016 6:57 PM

    Gloryhole?

  26. 3beeps says: Jan 23, 2016 7:01 PM

If only Antonio Romo could have followed Sean Payton when he left the Cowboys. Might have changed the entire arc of his career.

  27. arktikman says: Jan 23, 2016 7:37 PM

If only he was like Ben Roethlisberger. Everyone would complain about him playing up his injuries, but at least he would not have been on the shelf.

  28. edelmanfanclub says: Jan 23, 2016 7:46 PM

Romo is a warrior for putting up with this crap. He deserves better. I don’t know how well his collarbone is going to hold up after breaking it twice last year. It’s a shame really, he’s a great QB who didnt have a good GM who could draft, therefore never had that great of a defense.

  29. steelerfan63 says: Jan 23, 2016 7:49 PM

Bartender: Hey Johnny, some guy on the phone named Jerry wants to talk to ya.

  30. dtroxallday says: Jan 23, 2016 7:55 PM

I’d say that’s EXACTLY a coincidence. It almost otherwise implies that Dallas would have gone undefeated had he stayed healthy.

  31. lionsfan0and16forever says: Jan 23, 2016 7:57 PM

Jerry Jones needs the CT scan, not Romo!

The Cowboys are the most mediocre franchise in the history of the NFL. The had a decent team with Aikman, Smith and Irving, but outside those years they’re nothing special and definitely NOT America’s team, never have been never will be!

  32. ejmat3 says: Jan 23, 2016 8:00 PM

“The window is closing pretty fast on Dallas”

What window is that? The window of repeated 8-8 seasons and one fluke 12-4 season?

The Cowboys never had a shot at anything, but average football and won’t do anything until Jerry Jones has nothing to do with this embarrassing organization.

  33. profish13 says: Jan 23, 2016 8:14 PM

    ROMO SMASH!!!!!

  34. dtroxallday says: Jan 23, 2016 8:15 PM

I’m fitty yrs old but I have to call this dude a “baller”. Never been in any sort of trouble, plays his ass off even hurt. I remember him beating the Niners a few yrs back in OT with a punctered lung and/or cracked ribs or something to that affect.
Unfortunately, his bad plays seem to happen at the most clutch moments. That said, for those who want to refer to his pure stats (stictly numbers), sure, he’s pretty good on paper. So was Dan Marino. I bet they’d both shrink those big, fat numbers to change that ” 0″ in the Superbowl championships column.

  35. bigbamboom1 says: Jan 23, 2016 8:24 PM

Broken bones only heal, when you don’t continue breaking them. Tony’s run is done IMO. Too bad Jerry didn’t bring Murray back last year. It might have saved this guy for one last great run at a championship. I think they definitely would have won the AFC East with Romo and a strong running game. With at least a 10-6 record or better. I think Jerry should try to pry Glennon away from Tampa Bay. And go for a RB like Ezekiel Elliot or Henry in the draft. And take a flyer on a developmental QB in the mid-late rounds. Glennon is actually quite capable of starting and playing at a Joe Flacco level with the right cast around him.

  36. fifel1144 says: Jan 23, 2016 9:34 PM

Why did they wait so lucky long?

  37. 4sacroc says: Jan 23, 2016 9:45 PM

Not a ‘Boys backer, but I like Romo. He plays the game right. Not a punk. Gives 110 percent. Just
    bad luck with injuries.

Hoping he has a “Comeback Player of the Year” type campaign in ’16.

  38. jomo56 says: Jan 23, 2016 9:54 PM

Romo now suspect to shoulder injuries. OL now has to protect him at all cost which means when you get beat HOLD. Take the penalty. Keep the franchise upright to play another set of downs. It’s better to be in long yardage situation with your starter than not, as well as have him available for the season. This year proves that. Draft a QB in the first round

  39. gadlaw says: Jan 23, 2016 11:13 PM

I thought Romo usually waited until it was near time to report to training camp before deciding on his next surgery. Curious. It’s like he almost wants to actually play.

  40. oldbat13 says: Jan 23, 2016 11:18 PM

    Hopeless,

  45. claritysolution says: Jan 24, 2016 12:58 AM

Umm, one would need a lot more CT scans to get even close to having negative health repercussions.

In answer to your question, Florio is NOT 14! He just thought he would try and demean Jerry Jones and be humorous at the same time…Epic fail and very unprofessional….btw, I am far older than a teen, and totally agree with you about the commenters :)

  52. gammynomnom says: Jan 24, 2016 11:54 AM

By the way, Florio, keep it cutting edge because your reference to something Jerry said in 2012 never gets old. In your mind anyway.

Tony Romo turning into the Hulk would not be a negative repercussion.
