Yes, there is football on TV Saturday

Collin Klein, R.J. Dill, Brandon Thurman AP

The streak of televised Saturday football lives.

NFL Network airs the annual East-West Shrine Game at 4 p.m. ET., while ESPN2 airs the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl at 6 p.m. ET.

While these are lower-tier all-star games for NFL prospects, NFL scouts were at practices all week. Forty players from last year’s Shrine Game got drafted.

It’s the 91st Shrine Game, while the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl started in 2012. The most prestigious postseason all-star game, the Senior Bowl, is Jan. 30. Almost every NFL coach and scout will be at Senior Bowl practices next week.

Charlie Weis and June Jones are the Shrine Game coaches. Mike Holmgren and Mike Martz are coaching the NFLPA game.

I noticed the NFL Network airing a classic Colts vs Pats game before the East vs West game. They had 15 to choose from but they chose the Colts comeback in AFCCG in ’07.

Can you believe Brady vs Manning in the playoffs have only played each other 4 times which is odd since Brady has played in 24 playoff games vs AFC teams. I wonder why?

Oh thats right, Manning is usually one and done in the playoffs, an NFL record 9 times as a matter of fact. And if the Steelers had one of their top 2 RB’s or their top WR for last weeks game, even with an injured QB, they would have made it 10 one and done.

Well Manning can hope that some day Bengals QB Andy Dalton will break that record.

Nothing on the TV in New York other than snow storm coverage on every channel.

Thank goodness for my offshore books taking action on these games. Just too bad I couldn’t give the money to an American based firm.

Don’t make fun of Charlie Weis. It wasn’t too long ago that we all thought he walked on water. Everybody looks smart when they’re whispering plays into Brady’s ear. Now Josh McDaniels is the one we all think is smart. No wonder that guy selling the pet rocks made so much money.

Did Charlie Weis have more gut surgery?

Tuned into one of these games and they were interviewing the womanbeater Ray Rice. I changed the channel and never looked back.
