The Dolphins have added a former head coach to Adam Gase’s roster of assistants.

It’s not a former NFL head coach, though. According to multiple reports, former Saskatchewan Roughriders coach Danny Barrett will be the team’s running backs coach.

Barrett spent seven years as the coach in Saskatchewan after a long career as a quarterback in the Canadian league. He moved into college coaching after leaving the Roughriders in 2006 and spent the last five years at UCF, where he wrapped up the 2015 season as the interim head coach after George O’Leary was dismissed.

The Dolphins were 23rd in the league in rushing yards during the 2015 season and often heard criticism for their usage of Lamar Miller. Miller is set to be a free agent this offseason and expressed dissatisfaction with his role on the team more than once as the season wound down.
