Lou Anarumo got bumped up the coaching ladder in Miami in the middle of the 2015 season when the team fired defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle and named Anarumo as one of the three interim coaches overseeing the team down the stretch.
Anarumo interviewed for a permanent defensive coordinator job with the Jaguars after the season, but didn’t get the position so he’ll be headed back to Miami in his own role. The Dolphins announced a slew of coaching appointments on Monday, including Anarumo’s return as the defensive backs coach.
Special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi, assistant special teams coach Marwan Maalouf, defensive line coach Terrell Williams, assistant linebackers coach Charlie Bullen and assistant wide receivers coach Ben Johnson also remain on staff, although Bullen and Johnson will be in new roles. Dave Puloka has been promoted to head strength and conditioning coach while Ken O’Keefe will be the senior football research analyst and Blue Adams will be a football research analyst after being on the coaching staff last year.
The Dolphins also confirmed Danny Barrett will be the team’s running backs coach. Jim Arthur and Ted Rath have been hired as assistant strength and conditioning coaches, former Broncos offensive lineman Chris Kuper will be the offensive quality control coach and Rusty McKinney will be the defensive quality control coach.
