Good morning. In case you’re up and having breakfast, Jason Pierre Paul’s posting some photos of his bloody stump of a right hand from last July if you’re interested.
After months of hiding the condition of his damaged hand after he blew off a finger and some other parts in a Fourth of July fireworks accident, the Giants defensive end is sharing more now.
Via Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News, Pierre-Paul posted a photo of himself in a hospital bed, with blood seeping through his bandages and onto his gown.
“July 5th I remember when I was down and out,” he wrote as the caption to the Instagram post. “Just get back up and keep going no matter what.”
Whether he did it as self-motivation or just to gross us all out is unclear. He recently underwent another surgery on the hand and has another scheduled.
He hasn’t hidden his hand lately, and has promised to one day tell the full story of what happened the night of the explosion that cost him millions of dollars already, and probably more considering he’s entering free agency again this offseason.
