The Browns have interviewed former Broncos general manager Brian Xanders for their vacant vice president of player personnel position, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reported Tuesday.

The interview took place in Mobile, Ala., where the Browns’ brass is attending Senior Bowl practices. Sashi Brown has control of the 53-man roster and said last week the team is looking to hire someone to head up the scouting operation, not a true general manager.

Xanders, 44, was general manager of the Broncos from 2009-12. He’s been working as a senior personnel executive with the Lions since 2013.

The Browns have also interviewed former Dolphins general manager Dennis Hickey and former Lions general manager Martin Mayhew.
