Bengals TE Eifert leaves Pro Bowl in walking boot

The Pro Bowl was supposed to be harmless and something close to fun, but Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert apparently suffered an injury.

Per Geoff Hobson of, Eifert left Aloha Stadium in a walking boot. ESPN cameras had caught trainers talking to Eifert on the sideline and putting a protective wrap on his foot.

Hobson tweeted that Eifert said he jammed his heel and will need a scan to make sure nothing is broken.

Eifert caught one pass for 11 yards in his first Pro Bowl, which wasn’t much of a game. He caught 52 passes for 615 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2015, a year after he was held to one game by an elbow injury.

Time to end these rediculous all-star games. People need to stop watching and let this disaster die on the vine

  3. natijim235 says: Jan 31, 2016 11:45 PM

Wow if he can only stay on the field he is one of top 3 TE in game now. Here’s hoping it’s not serious

Maybe this injury will finally put this annual mess of an exhibition game out of it’s misery.

Hope he’s ok but if for some reason he faked an injury to get out of that terrible excuse for a game who could blame him.

Tuned in for 2 seconds and Devonta Freeman was playing defense. Great product NFL.

Harmless?? Ask Former pats running back Robert Edwards about that….

  7. tdubdizzle says: Feb 1, 2016 1:27 AM

Unbelievable. I hope he’s good to go next year.

    Really? :/

Have not watched in a decade and will continue not to. If the Bengals lose one of their best players for any time it’s a justifiable reason to end this flag football contest. Just a paid vacation to Hawaii for player who make so much money they don’t need it.

How do you come up with harmless to describe any football game. I get it nobody likes the pro bowl and for good reason, but don’t act surprised if someone gets hurt during any football game.

Eifert is one of my favorite players and I have his jersey sitting in my closet right now.

But dude could tear his ACL walking up the stairs.

  12. philvil41 says: Feb 1, 2016 7:43 AM

End this garbage game once and for all!!

  13. pftbro says: Feb 1, 2016 7:49 AM

He’s becoming another Jordan Cameron who went from the Browns to the Dolphins and has had one injury-free season in 5 years…

  14. pftbro says: Feb 1, 2016 7:51 AM

Just vote for the recognition and don’t play the game. On one hand the NFL talks about protecting it’s players and on the hand it puts them in harms way for the sake of money.

This guy is made out of glass. Bad trait for a TE.

If money is being made, the Pro Bowl will not go away

Wow, the Karma from the cheap hits put on the Steelers this year by the punks from the Jungle is already rearing it’s ugly head!! Look out for a HORRIBLE year for injuries in 2016 Bungle fans…

  18. clipper522 says: Feb 1, 2016 8:20 AM

You know you are injury prone when you get hurt in the Pro Bowl…where they don’t even tackle.

  19. Rdog says: Feb 1, 2016 8:26 AM

    That’s so Bengals

  20. chalkruz1989 says: Feb 1, 2016 8:46 AM

All 32 owners are waking up without finger nails. Probably pull some hair out during the game as they hope their stars don’t get hurt.

  21. boothisman says: Feb 1, 2016 8:52 AM

3rd best tight end in his own division (Miller, Barnidge) let alone the conference, he had no right being there in the first place.

  22. pats777 says: Feb 1, 2016 9:01 AM

They should just name players to the Pro Bowl for recognition and then stream a Madden simulation of all the players with some voiceovers and cheat codes thrown in for fun.

  23. conormacleod says: Feb 1, 2016 9:05 AM

It was a fun game. Hard hitting? No. Great defense? No. You can’t have that. People will get hurt. But, there was some great displays of athleticism, passing, catching, running. And some good defense on interceptions.

Guess what? None of the all star games feature 100% effort and “real game” experience. If people would just stop expecting that and accepting it for what it is, you wouldn’t get so angry. People want a “skills competition”? You’re already getting that.

  24. libertyandunion1994 says: Feb 1, 2016 10:09 AM

I can’t believe players actually participate in this sham.

This can’t possibly generate revenue. Not to mention, if you’re an owner, do you really want you players involved in this? 16 game schedule and then if you’re in the playoffs there’s a couple more. If I we’re a player this is a no brainer, thanks but no thanks.

All of those Bungle fans blaming Mitchell for hurting Eifert and it turns out that Eifert is just a Nancy.

I accidentally hit my ankle on the side of my coffee table yesterday and didn’t get paid a dime. No walking boot but did have to do some icing.

All we needed was a Burfict personal foul and a Dalton pick and it would’ve been like watching a bengals playoff game.

  29. crownofthehelmet says: Feb 1, 2016 4:13 PM

Heath Miller is rarely injured and catches everything thrown his way. He’s like the bizarro Eifert.

  30. irish106 says: Feb 1, 2016 10:41 PM

Please don’t ever compare Heath Miller too Tyler eifert ,Miller couldn’t and shouldn’t ever be on the same field its that much difference in the talent ,With too pull outs for the pro bowl Miller still didn’t make it talk when you can talk wow .

  31. irish106 says: Feb 1, 2016 10:43 PM

Miller is too slow can’t half catch what’s he do block!!!
