Doug Martin: “You have to” give 100 percent in Pro Bowl

Buccaneers running back Doug Martin might be headed for free agency. But first he’s in Hawaii for the Pro Bowl, and Martin said this week he won’t be letting up when the pads come on Sunday night.

“It’s a nice vacation setting but when it comes to playing the game, you have to go 100 percent,” Martin told “If you don’t, that’s when injuries come. So you have to go 100 percent.

Martin rushed for 1,402 yards in 2015, his first 1,000-yard season since he was a rookie. The Pro Bowl comes as a reward for that — he brought more than 20 family members and friends along — before he gets back to business and presumably to the negotiating table with the Bucs.

Free agency is an option because the Bucs did not pick up Martin’s fifth year option on his rookie contract, but the team still could use the franchise tag to keep him off the market if a deal isn’t reached. Martin has said he doesn’t want to talk about his contract — or entertain the thought that being in a contract year sparked his big season.

He’ll hit the hole at 100% but once he feels contact he’ll go down like any sensible running back in this joke of a game.

And he will be yanked from the game, as he should be. These guys have nothing to prove to anyone. Especially the dumb rubes who honestly believe the players should play it like a regular game.
NFL will never take the Pro Bowl away. They would also play regular season games in Hawaii instead of England.

Remember when Taylor kit the kicker

He means 100% of the 5% effort the players usually give. But since the NFL isn’t offering them any insurance if they get hurt I don’t blame them.

No one can “assume” what he is talking about. What I hope he is talking about however, is not going out there and goofing around, because then, injuries do occur. Give it an honest effort, because the fans voted you in, they are looking forward to seeing you and a decent game. Goodell has decided to keep this game, so I wish everyone would quit complaining about it, and just try to support our players and ENJOY!

If I had your silly job I’d at least pretend to have a sense of integrity and respect for my audience and ignore the Pro Bowl.

This guy is the REAL deal. Anyone would be lucky to have him on their team next year. (that is coming from someone who has had AP as their RB since ’07) Quit giving him a hard time!
