The New Orleans Saints are giving former Indianapolis Colts running back Vick Ballard another chance after injuries have derailed each of his last three seasons.

According to Nick Underhill of the New Orleans Advocate, the Saints are signing Ballard to a futures contract for 2016.

Ballard posted 966 yards from scrimmage as a rookie for the Colts in 2012. But after a promising rookie year, Ballard has appeared in just one regular season game since. A torn ACL and torn Achilles wiped out his next two seasons. He landed on injured reserve again in 2015 before the Colts released him with an injury settlement.

If Ballard can stay healthy, he might be a nice under the radar addition for the Saints.
