See you on September 8

Zz0wZjBjNjVlYjBkYjY5ZGVhOGE4YzBkZDQ0NTZkZmNkZQ== AP

The 2015 season is over. Which means that it’s time to start thinking about the 2016 season.

The 2016 season will begin on Thursday, September 8 in Denver. And the Broncos will be hosting one of eight potential opponents: the Chargers, Raiders, Chiefs, Colts, Texans, Falcons, Panthers, or Patriots.

While many will be clamoring for a Super Bowl rematch, another edition of Patriots-Broncos would be the best way to start the season, with or without (without) Peyton Manning playing quarterback for the Broncos.

But here’s the main reason why the Patriots possibly won’t be picked for the game. If the NFL wins the pending appeal of Tom Brady’s suspension, he won’t be available to play in the game.

Which means both Manning and Brady could be gone for Week One, which could make the decision not a simple one. We’ll most likely learn the answer in April — and then we can start counting the days for September.

    Another season.

Another no Patriots or Vikings super bowl win.

The Broncos will show up and play – even if the press says they won’t again!!!!

If I did my job as poorly as the NFL experts, I’d be fired.

Worst part of the sports year. Crappy weather. No football. No baseball. Only basketball and hockey. On to the draft, which should be exciting for me as a Chargers fan, maybe we can get our own Von Miller.

    Congrats to Broncos fans.

A very real possibility given the liberties taken by the trial judge in rendering his verdict. Can’t wait to read the reactions here should that occur.

Karma! Teams that show poor sportsmanship like the panthers and especially newton, don’t deserve to win it all. Maybe newton will leave other teams fans alone. Maybe he will gain some humility stop being a sore winner and develop some class on the field. Experience over immaturity. Good going Broncos.

  18. sullijo1 says: Feb 7, 2016 11:05 PM

game was boring unless you are a Bronco Fan!!! Ha ha – I’m guessing the haters in Kansas City would love to be involved in a “boring” bowl – since they haven’t been in one since the Vietnam War ended!!!!

  19. frankfortschooldropout says: Feb 7, 2016 11:07 PM

One thing is for sure, Newton is bad. 3 turnovers and missing wide open receivers says it all.

I saved the .GIF from that critical last Cam fumble play. Break it down frame by frame and Cam could have definitely fallen on the fumble. Instead, he stayed upright and then jumped back. That’s pretty bad and shows he didn’t want it enough.

  32. dropanotherpassadams says: Feb 7, 2016 11:19 PM

Watching Cam Newton interview and that just about sums it up.He is one of the most self centered immature professional athletes i have ever seen.I know facing the media after losing a Championship must be tough but he is the face of the Panthers.

Haha – that was the best Super Bowl since 1998.

  42. fineswisswatches says: Feb 7, 2016 11:30 PM

Interesting what a team can do with a very good physical defense, a decent running attack and a old average at best QB! The Patriots and alot of other teams could learn a thing or two from that!

  43. sullijo1 says: Feb 7, 2016 11:31 PM

  47. rootpain says: Feb 7, 2016 11:43 PM

Can we cross sports and call that a “SB50 triple play” . The Pro Bowl was a flop, the half time show was a flop and the game itself was a flop. Manning should be embarrassed. Cam Newton should apologize. And Goodell should be fired.
Can we bring the Patriots back in now?

  48. patsrthegreatest says: Feb 7, 2016 11:48 PM

  49. milehighmagik7 says: Feb 7, 2016 11:49 PM

We need to reissue that MVP award after watching Cam give that disgusting speech after the game. He’s a ME guy and can only be happy and dance after a win but has no gracious loser speech. I watched Manning after a humiliating loss in SB48 go over to R.Sherman and see if he was OK and congratulate him then go on to praise them afterwards. Wake up Cam your suppose to be the MVP, role model and face of NFL. Take lessons from people like Manning, Brady and Brees. NFL reissue that award to a player who is a winner even when losing. Your teammates, fans, organization are looking at you for words to carry them thru this and you showed everyone they need to look elsewhere. The Broncos D exposed you for the ME player you are and showed the world what kind of “man” you are not. NFL reissue that award immediately to someone who shows class both in victory and defeat because this little boy is not it. BRONCOS NATION took that I’m gr8 smile off his face.

  50. scrimshawturtle says: Feb 7, 2016 11:52 PM

The NFL gameplay was the worst I’ve ever seen this season. The Super Bowl was among the most boring I’ve watched. If we can expect more of this next season, don’t hurry back NFL.

  51. gurnblanstonreturns says: Feb 7, 2016 11:54 PM

Wow, it took Tom Brady fanboy and Patriots’ internet mouthpiece, Mike Florio, about a full hour to find the Brady angle on Denver winning Super Bowl 50 (or, as Florio calls it, “The Patriots’ Championship That Got Away Cuz the NFL Unfairly Persecuted My Tommy”).

Take it easy. No doubt you Viking fans were rooting for the Broncos today, because a Panther win would have meant there’s yet another team with more World Championships than the Minnesota Vikings.

  55. musicfootballprogramming says: Feb 8, 2016 12:24 AM

Without the ability to trump Brady/Manning XVIII I doubt they’d put the Pats there. Almost seems cheesy to send the Panthers there. I’d personally vote for KC.

Note: Brady is not getting suspended, anyone who has been paying attention knows that. Berman made the appeal a non starter, NFL is just going through the motions.

  56. dougy1970 says: Feb 8, 2016 1:04 AM

Brady will get suspended for lying his ass off to cover for McNally stealing the balls before kickoff.

Nixon couldn’t throw the Watergate burglers under the bus for fear of them ratting. Same for Brady with McNally.

  57. GoodellMustGo says: Feb 8, 2016 9:54 AM

    Patriots are ratings.

    People watch the Patriots.

People can’t stop talking about the Patriots.

People miss the Patriots when they are not on TV.

People think about the Patriots all the time.

They can’t help themselves.🙂 Just look at this board!

That’s why it will be the new champion Denver Broncos hosting the 4 time World Champion Patriots to kick off the 2016 NFL season.

Of course…hopefully with a new NFL commissioner.

  58. vader3234 says: Feb 8, 2016 10:12 AM

Congrats to the Broncos but for those braggarts claiming three Superbowl wins. It took them this long, and how many have they lost?

  59. GoodellMustGo says: Feb 8, 2016 10:56 AM

I wonder how Goodell should get fired.

Personally I hope it’s Mr. McMahon style. Someone gets right in Goodell’s grill and yells YOOOOUR FAAAIIIRED.🙂

Better watch out for that pinocchio nose though. It’s probably still growing.

    __________________________

Not a Pats fan but it would be very instructional to those of us who actually read all of the now publicly available documents what ‘liberties’ you are referring to. Berman’s ruling is on very solid ground. Lack of discovery and Goodell acting as his own arbitrator were more than enough to vacate the suspension. Going even further to cement the finding in labor law Berman also cited Goodell’s application of his “own brand of industrial justice” by going outside the parameters of the CBA in rendering punishment without notice.

  61. superpatriotsfan says: Feb 8, 2016 3:53 PM

Belichick has about 7 months to get as much video footage of the Broncos.
