Chris Baker to Washington: “Pay the man”

Washington and quarterback Kirk Cousins reportedly have broken off negotiations on a new deal. A teammate currently under contract has chimed in, Twitter-style.

“Come on pay the man ,” defensive lineman Chris Baker said on Twitter.

Baker, who is due to make $3 million in 2016, has been with the team since 2011. He also interjected himself into a Cousins post-game interview after a win over the Saints, yelling, “You like that! You like that! I like that!

It’ll be interesting to see whether other current players speak out on behalf of Cousins, and whether that will make any difference in the negotiations between Cousins and the team.

Their name is the Redskins. You seriously look immature as hell calling them “Washington”.

The name of the team is the Redskins, and after the latest court ruling on trademarks that you were embarrassed to mention, there is no chance the Redskins will ever lose theirs.

Could any other team screw up the QB position the way the Redskins have the past few years? First the RG3 debacle and now that they have someone who gets the job done for them and the negotiations have “broken off”. I think the only thing broken is Redskin management.

There are several QBs coming out in this draft that are way better than Cousins. If Cousins’ agent gets stupid and demands too much money, he may be playing for a different team next year. But I’d just chill out a little and give both sides time to negotiate. This is just a little game they play, and it’s really just getting started. Be patient.
