Washington and quarterback Kirk Cousins reportedly have broken off negotiations on a new deal. A teammate currently under contract has chimed in, Twitter-style.
“Come on @Redskins pay the man @KirkCousins8 #ILIKETHAT,” defensive lineman Chris Baker said on Twitter.
Baker, who is due to make $3 million in 2016, has been with the team since 2011. He also interjected himself into a Cousins post-game interview after a win over the Saints, yelling, “You like that! You like that! I like that!”
It’ll be interesting to see whether other current players speak out on behalf of Cousins, and whether that will make any difference in the negotiations between Cousins and the team.
