Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall played an important role for the team on their way to a Super Bowl 50 title and he did it with a pair of screws in his right foot.
Marshall had the screws surgically inserted last year after injuring his foot late in the 2014 season, but never missed any time in 2015 on his way to 102 tackles, 1.5 sacks and an interception. Marshall won’t have to play with the screws in his foot again next season.
Marshall sent out a picture of his foot with a caption announcing that he was “finally” going to have them removed. Things didn’t go exactly as planned as one screw broke and half of it had to remain in as a result.
There’s no expectation that Marshall will miss any offseason work after having the screws removed. He’s set to be a restricted free agent, so he could miss some time if he and the Broncos can’t agree on a long-term deal but health shouldn’t be a concern for Marshall as he prepares for the fall.
