The changes keep coming on defense for the Lions.

The team announced Friday that they have released defensive tackle C.J. Wilson. Word came earlier this week that the Lions will also be parting ways with linebacker Stephen Tulloch and safety James Ihedigbo.

Wilson landed with the Lions last November after being waived by the Raiders and appeared in eight games with the team. He had eight tackles and a sack after recording three tackles in four appearances with Oakland. He was entering the second year of a two-year, $2.8 million deal and the Lions will save all $2.3 million he was set to count against the cap.

That money may be put toward holding onto one or both of the Lions’ original starters at defensive tackle last season. Haloti Ngata and Tyrunn Walker are both set to become free agents, which leaves Caraun Reid and Gabe Wright as the only tackles of note currently signed for the 2016 season.
