Packers defensive tackle Mike Pennel will be suspended for the first four games of the 2016 season.

The NFL announced today that Pennel is suspended for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. Pennel can participate in all offseason and preseason practices and games, but he’ll be banished from the team for the first four weeks of the regular season.

The 24-year-old Pennel has shown promise in his young career, but he’s also had his share of problems, including multiple suspensions at Arizona State. He signed with the Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2014.

Last year Pennel played in all 16 games, starting five.
