It’s no accident that the Rams visited the Cowboys last year during their Oxnard training camp. Because now that they’ve relocated from St. Louis, they’re going to need a place to train themselves.

According to Bob Buttitta of the Ventura County Star, the Rams and Oxnard officials have reached a tentative agreement for the team to hold minicamps and OTAs on the same fields the Cowboys used for training camp.

The deal has to be approved next Tuesday by the Oxnard City Council, and the city is expected to net $86,000 on the deal. It calls for the Rams to rent the fields and adjoining locker rooms from April 18 through June 17. The Rams are also talking with the adjacent Marriott property for rooms and meeting space.

It’s unclear exactly where Jeff Fisher’s team will work later this summer for training camp.

The Cowboys have a deal with Oxnard to have at least a portion of camp there through 2017. But they’re opening a new facility in Frisco, Texas, and will likely want to spend some time there in the future as well.
