Bills running back LeSean McCoy was scheduled to meet with the Philadelphia District Attorney on Tuesday and then that meeting was reportedly cancelled due to a feared “media circus” before word out of Philly changed again on Tuesday afternoon.

According to multiple reports, McCoy and/or his attorneys will meet with prosectors on Tuesday after all. The latest shift comes amid further complaints from the Fraternal Order of Police about the way the District Attorney is handling the case. FOP president John McNesby said it was “bizarre” that District Attorney Seth Williams would meet with McCoy and accused Williams of providing McCoy special treatment.

“If that’s not preferential treatment, I don’t know what is,” McNesby said, via CSNPhilly.com. “I don’t know if [Williams] is cozy [with McCoy], not cozy, but we’re scratching our heads over the whole situation. It looks like special treatment to me.”

A spokesman for Williams’ office said that the meeting was nothing of the kind.

“Anytime an attorney wishes to have their client reach out to us, we do that,” the spokesman said. “That’s part of our investigation. This is not an issue of preferential treatment. This is an issue of conducting a thorough investigation.”

McNesby added that police officers will “lose a lot of respect” for Williams if McCoy isn’t charged with a crime, which could make the fallout from McCoy’s nightclub fight with off-duty police officers go much further than most incidents involving NFL players.
