The last time we saw Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis playing the final football game of the season, he was doing so with a right arm that looked like the football itself.

But after spending a career overcoming dramatic injuries, he’s not ready to stop now.

Davis’s wife Kelly told Alex Marvez and Phil Savage on SiriusXM NFL Radio that her husband was not retiring, apparently looked to build on his indestructible image.

“His arm is healing up great,” Kelly Davis said. “He’s feeling awesome. I told him, ‘You are really Iron Man.’”

Of course, Davis earned that reputation the hard way, coming back from three torn ACLs to not just play, but play at a high level, earning Pro Bowl and All-Pro Honors in his 11th season.

But the tough-guy street cred came when he had surgery to install a plate and 12 screws into the arm the day after breaking it in the NFC Championship Game. When he shared photos of it after the game, it cemented the reality that Davis is willing to come back from anything to stay on the field.

Davis’s wife said he’s already started working out in preparation for the coming season, and that the 32-year-old linebacker has given no thoughts to retirement.
