Source: Peyton still hasn’t told Broncos his plans

Despite a Denver Post report that Peyton Manning will announce his retirement in the coming week, we’re told that the Broncos have still not been apprised of Manning’s plans.

A source tells PFT that the Broncos have not been informed of any decision by Manning. The team expects to talk to Manning again in the week ahead, but as of Saturday night he hasn’t yet told the Broncos what he’s doing.

Broncos G.M. John Elway said on Pro Football Talk on NBCSN that he and Manning chatted for a couple hours and planned to talk again, and that the Broncos expect to know Manning’s plans before the start of free agency on March 9.

Realistically, the Broncos would have little choice but to cut Manning if he hasn’t announced his retirement before March 9, as they simply can’t justify keeping him around at his $19 million salary, which would be guaranteed if he’s still on the roster on March 9. So one way or another, some clarity on Manning’s plans is coming soon. But Manning hasn’t yet made clear to the Broncos what he’ll do.

Would love to see Woody Paige, specifically, get thrown under the bus by Elway

If Peyton Manning hasn’t told the Denver Broncos HIS plans, then they need to tell him THEIRS: IT’S OVER! Give up the ghost Manning! There’s plenty of life after football.

He missed his golden opportunity when he held up that Lombardi trophy when the world was watching on Super Bowl Sunday. What a storybook ending that would have been had he announced it then.

Instead, he decided to milk it and now the mask as been ripped off his “golden” reputation and he’s getting exposed. As that old commercial says, “Know when to say when…”

Woody Paige has some good sources within the Manning inner circle. He has not been wrong on any Manning insider info in the past. Just because he hasn’t told the Broncos, doesn’t mean he hasn’t made hi decision.

I bet he’s already told those important to him: Budweiser, Nationwide and Papa John.

He’s a predator who uses hgh to gain an edge on the competition and his stats were

If Manning retires, the broncos will be lucky to win 8 games. Manning was hurt all last year and still found a way to win. Had Carolina managed tof score PFM would have marched his team right down the field to score. All these Manning hater trolls know nothing about football. I’ll take a 40-year old Peyton over anyone in the league, and really wish he’d go to another team and crank up that incredible no huddle game he runs better than anyone.

Maybe he would like to get cut and keep his signing bonus.

5-2 without him. Maybe if your head wasn’t so far up Peyton’s backside you would’ve seen that. But yeah, go PFM.

That same carolina defense turned Russel Wilson and Carson Palmer over 10 times in the previous 2 games. Run the ball and minimize turnovers while relying on the defense was the right gameplan. If they would have let him throw all day against one of these premier defenses, he would have had a terrible game like Wilson, Palmer, Cam Newton and even Brady did against top defenses like Carolina or Denver.

If hes gonna go back to the broncos he better take like 6 million or less cuz they got 2 pass rushers and a backup (maybe future) qb to sign. Do what DMX said and stop being greedy. You got Nationwide and Papa Johns money rolling in.

  19. uglydingo says: Feb 27, 2016 10:05 PM

Peyton is all about the money. Regardless of the fact that his ability to operate as an NFL QB has declined significantly where he looks washed up. Peyton will do what he can to make more money, even if that includes playing in Cleveland for Jimmy Haslam. He will force Denver’s hand if he can find a way to grab more money.
Peyton never says no to the money. Never, ever.
Chicken parm – you taste so good.

Snowdude…LOL. Did you lose $$$ on the superbowl? Keep underestimating the GOAT. He had the greatest QB season in histore- twice, and earned the respect of most of the guys he played with and against. If he retires it’s with more touchdowns than anyone who’s ever played the game, and he did it faster than anyone very likely ever will. Some losers just get really jealous of men and women who are great at what they do…I doubt any of them care what haters like you think.

Guess If he retires flacco will throw for 117 yds against the backup of the Broncos .

Had he announced it on the podium, it would have stolen the attention from his team. Instead of being asked how it feels to be World Champions, his teammates would have all been asked how they feel about Peyton’s retirement. All the talk on boards like this would have been about how selfish it was of Peyton to put all the focus on him, especially since the victory was primarily on the backs of the defense. No, Peyton played it right.

That said, Manning is done in Denver and there will be no drama, retirement or not. Peyton’s contract has a stipulation requiring he pass a physical before his salary is guaranteed. He insisted it be put in there to protect any team willing to take the risk on him in 2012. His annual physical scheduled for March 4. There is no way he can pass. All the Broncos have to say is “we love you Peyton and want to back, but we just can’t because of your foot (or ankle or ribs or shoulder or neck…take your pick)”. No hurt feelings. Everyone moves on. Peyton can always get a second opinion in LA and they can do what they want.

  25. cinzano08 says: Feb 27, 2016 10:39 PM

He’ll be suspended anyways so he has to retire. Mlb is investigating the guyer clinic as we speak and they won’t let go like the NFL did. NFL let miller off for only 6 games for bribing a urine tester so using high has to be at least 4. Broncos and peds go together like Broncos and salary cap cheating.

  26. bubbahotepp says: Feb 27, 2016 10:48 PM

It’s time for Peyton to turn his attention to more important matters…like why the sausage on Papa John’s pizza looks like rabbit poop.

Done in Denver but not done, let’s hope. Then Denver stops being so relevant.

  32. cinzano08 says: Feb 28, 2016 11:49 AM

People saying pedton doesn’t want to leave because he wants 1 more win to break the regualr season record. Its not going to matter because TB12 will have that record, playoff wins and SB wins to go along with the most TD’s ever. Pedton knows this so he’s ordering up a new batch of HGH only this time its addressed to his twins.

  33. jackfan2 says: Feb 28, 2016 1:11 PM

Brady can never catch Manning on total touchdowns, and wins is not really a QB stat…it has more to do with the teams you play on. Manning did it faster than anyone ever. Who cares if Brady throws more TDS if it takes him 100 to 200 more attempts? Dream on TB fans, your guy isn’t even in the same league as PFM. Ever notice how when the TV lightweights want to inflate a certain QB stats to keep the public fired up about football after Peyton retires, they cite some states “since 2011”? That’s because Manning sat out the entire year! He leads in every major category when the time frame is say, 2000 to 2010, and most when it’s 2012 to 2016. Live with it Brady suckups.
