Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan will be doing some rehab for the first couple of months of the offseason.
Last week, Jordan responded to a tweet by teammate Kenny Vaccaro about muscle returning quickly after a layoff from working out by saying that’s what he’s been telling himself with eight weeks of rehab in front of him.
Sunday brought a report from Jason Cole of Bleacher Report that Jordan’s rehab would be from arthroscopic surgery on his lower back, something that Jordan appeared to confirm with another tweet reading “that’s out now huh” in response to someone complimenting his play through the injury.
Jordan finished the 2016 season with 10 sacks and the back issue wasn’t enough to keep him from playing in the Pro Bowl, which suggests the back wasn’t a major issue for Jordan last season. It’s not expected to be one next season as Jordan tries to help the Saints defense rebound.
