The Texans on Monday released a standard statement expressing their disappointment in wide receiver Jaelen Strong’s Sunday arrest for marijuana possession.

“We are disappointed in the choices Jaelen made to put himself in this situation,” the statement attributed to Texans general manager Rick Smith said. “We will have no further comment at this time.”

Strong, a third-round pick last spring who played college football at Arizona State, was arrested in Scottsdale while riding in a car driven by his college teammate, Packers safety Damarious Randall.

Randall was not arrested. Strong was arrested and released, and it’s up to police if they’ll pursue charges.

Strong caught 14 passes in 10 games as rookie, three for touchdowns.
