The Steelers might not want to put running back Le’Veon Bell on any kind of timetable, but he just crossed a significant threshold today.

Bell just posted a short clip of himself running on a treadmill, in what appears to be a device to keep the weight off his surgically repaired knee, saying he was “clear to run.”

Of course, that’s a long way from a full comeback, but it is also March 1, so that’s a good sign.

Bell suffered a torn MCL and PCL on Nov. 1 against the Bengals, and the Steelers are going to give him plenty of time to make sure he’s well. The PCL, one of the lesser-known but important CLs, has been a complicated rehab for players in the past.

Bell had nearly 700 combined yards in six games last year before he was lost for the season.
