The next time linebacker Darius Fleming plays good Samaritan on a road, it will likely take place somewhere other than Massachusetts.

Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports that the Patriots released Fleming on Friday and Fleming wrote on Twitter that he is excited to see what’s next for him.

Fleming, a 2012 fifth-round pick of the 49ers, played six regular season games for the Patriots last season, seeing most of his time on special teams, and finished the year with four tackles. He also saw action in five games and made six tackles during the 2010 season.

Fleming gained more notice for his off the field actions in January. After the Patriots beat the Chiefs in the divisional round of the playoffs, Fleming revealed he played the game with 22 stitches in his leg that he got after suffering a cut while kicking out the window of a car that had been in an accident to help a woman out.

Too much honesty and class for the Patriots to handle so of course he’s cut.

They could use some extra turnstiles at Logan if he’s looking for work. No need to remember snap counts there.

    .
When informed, Fleming was still in Denver and still in his three point stance.

Well we know he won’t end up in Dallas. Good Samaritan ≠ Cowboys leadership requirements

I was thinking the same thing. Belichick loves him some football history, so having a player on the roster who logged time 2 years before he was drafted would be a feather in his cap….

He showed too much character and selflessness in helping that women, its not the patriot way…..

Whatever happens with our roster this year can we admit that the Deflategate revenge tour backfired on us and was a failure? It was a bigger let down than the spygate revenge tour of 2007. The way the season ended left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Love that kind of flexibility. Guy was making plays two years before he got drafted

P.S. Remember DARIUS Fleming, the LINEBACKER that the Patriots released today? Not to be confused with CAMERON Fleming? The LINEMAN who did NOT get released today ? No joke !
