Statement says Suggs was arrested for driving with suspended license

Yes, Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs has been arrested. No, it wasn’t the kind of incident that would put him in line for a significant punishment from the post-Ray Rice NFL.

Marketing agent Denise White has issued the following statement regarding the incident: “This morning, Terrell Suggs was in a single-car collision, no one was injured. Police were called and upon speaking with Terrell found his license to be suspended for speeding tickets. He was detained by the police and released a couple hours later. Terrell will let the judicial system take its course and fix his license issues.”

That’s good news for Suggs and the Ravens, since it means a suspension is highly unlikely.

Suggs suffered a torn Achilles tendon in Week One of the 2015 regular season. He is expected to be back with the team in 2016.

  1. When you get your license suspended for speeding, that doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re stupid, maybe just reckless.

If you continue driving on that suspended license, then you’ve proven you’re stupid.

  2. I was arrested for that once.

Didn’t even know it was suspended because I was traveling a lot and didn’t check my mail for 5 months. Came back…had a HUGE sack of mail…and before I went through it all…boom.

Popped for driving on a suspended license.

A single car collision in the morning generally means alcohol was involved.

Too much alcohol involved usually draws a citation for more than just a suspended license

how hard is it for these guys to renew a license? Unless they are older and require an eye test you can renew in most states online.

It’s pretty damned hard to renew a suspended license.

  5. Patriots fans logic: In accordance with the Pauli Exclusion Principle of quantum physics, he must be innocent of the single car accident. Why can’t you trolls and haters understand that?

They should have kept him jail for being a jerk. Ravens… class organization all the way.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

If you could lock people up for being jerks you’d have more people in jail than out.

  7. Sounds like he’s a responsible driver. He’s just better than the common man and rules don’t apply to him.

  8. Hmmm… Looks like all the previous lawyering has paid off, the cops did not think twice about the baseball bat in the trunk this time… because Suggs carry’s a baseball mitt as well now. 🙂

  9. he knocked his wife to the ground and sat on top of her, grabbing her neck and holding an open bottle of bleach over her. guys a class act…..smh

Especially since it was outside a bar at 2:03 AM.

  11. We will get through this. Champions always overcome adversity.

  12. “If you could lock people up for being jerks you’d have more people in jail than out.”

Lol you’d have about 5% of the people taking care of the 95% that were incarcerated

  13. How is it a busy single mom with two jobs often manages to take care of their life, pay bills, keep a valid drivers license and obey basic traffic laws yet a multi-millionaire super star athlete with agents and personal assistants cant even manage to keep their drivers license or stay off the roads when it is suspended. That is a pathetic contribution to society by someone that should be so grateful for what he has been given in life.

Also… Suggs may be the worst human being in the league if the past horrible allegations of domestic abuse are even close to true.

  14. Here’s the good news a NFL player had an accident after midnight and DID NOT HAVE : alcohol, drugs, guns or a beaten woman in the car. In today’s world Sizzle may be given an award and speaking opportunities around the league when training camp begins…..

  15. Not even news.just trying to get all haters fired up.i know just doing there job but theres gota be
    more out there than this.

  16. Whew. I was worried it was another domestic violence charge. You know… in addition to the other domestic violence incidents on his record.

A multi millionaire who doesn’t pay simple speeding tickets.

I doubt it was from not paying tickets but rather from the number of tickets. Im guessing he had too many points against his license for speeding and they suspended it.

Still thinking about the Patriots, Willy? Hmmm…

  19. I drove on a suspended license for a year, and I presume the statute of limitations has expired given my public confession. Eventually the courts ruled that oops, it never should’ve been suspended. Who cares? Nobody, not even me.

  20. Not as bad as being McCown’d out of playoff contention in week 5 behind a health Joe Flaccid. Wait, maybe it is. The disasters just keep coming to this classless organization! LOL!!

  21. Not throwing bleach this time at least. The poor guy nèeds a break. I mean maybe he ran out of bleach and had to go get some so he justified driving.

  22. Leaving the scene of an accident is a felony if I’m not mistaken. Did he flee because he knew his license was suspended or was he under the influence? Either way, nothing says guilty like fleeing the scene of an accident.

    Typical Ravens player.

Who doesn’t check their mail for 5 months? Traveling a lot isn’t an excuse for that.

All this ‘confession’ did was lump you and Suggs in the same category.

  25. Just ridiculous. Just pay the tickets. Also – what excuse is there for someone not collecting the money he owes? He’s a famous sportsman, not some nobody moving house every week.

  26. Damn, what a fool.

This might be the beginning of the end. Cutting Suggs now would result in a $1.4m EXTRA cap hit, plus his current cap number.

Cutting him after June 1 would be a $4.5m savings this year with $6m dead money next year.

    Grrrrrr.

Nowhere in the article does it say that he left the scene or fled.

Why do some of you people feel the need to make stuff up and/or embellish stories?

  29. I have no doubt that, just like the Ray Lewis incident, the charges will be dropped and we can proceed on to our third ring.

  30. Since we’re embellishing stories … something like this just smells like a government conspiracy.

Clearly the spy satellites were following his car and the gov’ment shined them there lasers up in the sky right in his eyes. They done made him crash up his car hoping dat would make us stop lookin’ at the election thing going on.

  31. I have no doubt that, just like the Ray Lewis incident, the charges will be dropped and we can proceed on to our third ring.

Caught you lying again. The bum Lewis copped a plea to a felony if he testified against his friends. So Suggs and Lewis are different in one is a known felon the other is just stupid.

  32. Can’t stand Suggs. But I would take him on my team anytime. Baller.

  33. The desperation of the Big Ben Lover Society is so sad. Just like Ray Lewis, the world will soon hear that this has been blown completely out of proportion by those who fear us.

  34. The desperation of the Big Ben Lover Society is so sad. Just like Ray Lewis, the world will soon hear that this has been blown completely out of proportion by those who fear us.

Only a fool would minimize the death of two people as over blown. . But then again I understand that living in the murder capital of the US makes murder seem normal yet that’s no excuse… What a calloused turd.
