The Eagles are looking to unload another remnant of the Chip Kelly era.

This time it’s cornerback Byron Maxwell, whom Kelly signed to a six-year, $63 million contract a year ago. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Eagles and Dolphins are discussing a trade that would send Maxwell to Miami.

The Dolphins have been looking to add another big-name piece to their defense, having already visited with free agent defensive end Mario Williams. Maxwell would upgrade Miami’s secondary, but it would come at a cost: The 28-year-old Maxwell has an $8.5 million base salary this year and a $10 million base salary next year.

Maxwell started 14 games for the Eagles last season.
