Report: Ben Jones leaving Texans for Titans

The Titans are taking offensive lineman Ben Jones from the Texans, their division rival.

Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reported Tuesday that Jones has agreed to terms with the Titans on a four-year deal.

Jones, 26, was the Texans’ starting center last season and previously started at guard. A fourth-round pick in 2012, Jones has started every game the last two years and 43 games in his four seasons.

With the free agency period and trade market officially opening Wednesday, the Titans have been among the most aggressive teams with early moves. On Monday, they agreed on a trade with the Eagles that will bring veteran running back DeMarco Murray to Tennessee.

New Titans general manager Jon Robinson sees Murray and Jones as key pieces in trying to improve what was the league’s 25th ranked rushing offense last season.
