Bears troll Jets in connection with Trevathan signing

Tebow AP

On the surface, the decision of the Bears to sign linebacker Danny Trevathan from the Broncos has nothing to do with the Jets. At a deeper level, there’s a connection. And the Bears decided to point that out on Twitter.

Declared the Bears on Wednesday evening: “New #Bears LB Danny Trevathan was selected in sixth round of ’12 draft with pick Broncos acquired from Jets for Tim Tebow.”

Bears coach John Fox coached the Broncos when Tebow was dumped onto the Jets for the pick that became Trevathan. Now, the Broncos have to at least be considering the possibility of bringing back Tebow, given this week’s decimation of the depth chart.

I’m kidding about Tebow. Then again, given that the other choices apparently are Colin Kaepernick and Robert Griffin III, maybe I’m not.

    LOL!

With the Jets, they’re the gift that keeps on giving, year after year after year.

    Unreal.

As a Pats fan, I just sit back with the popcorn and welcome another 45 years of stupidity, entitlement and jealousy from the Jets towards all the other franchises.

Who doesn’t enjoy making fun of the jets? It’s not like they are a legitimate nfl team

I’d sign tebow over kap or rg3.

Saying how trevathan was acquired doesn’t qualify as trolling the jets to me.

“We just paid a huge amount of money for a 6th round slug who was protected in the league’s best defense. In yo face, Jets, ha ha ha…”.

John Fox, no rings, no class.

    Your 2016 Bears!

Give me a break…Yes you are!

The NYJ suck. Even with NFL HQ giving them a leg up year after year, they still can’t get it done. Trolling them isn’t really even trolling anymore.

  9. grizzlott says: Mar 9, 2016 8:18 PM

@thegreatgabbert How do you decide who made that defense great, and who was “protected” by it? The fact that he was a 6th round pick means nothing towards how effective of a player he is now.

Funny the Jets go 10-6 amd they get mocked by the Bears…if Fitz didn’t play like crap in the last game of the season the Jets would of went far in the playoffs. Remember they 10 wins and didn’t get in. They should be mocked just like all those 10 win teams.

The Bears will be lucky to go 6 – 10 this season. They are still not very good.

As for the Bears. Good for you paying DT all that money because you can’t draft and you have to go spend. Guess Shea Mclellan isn’t working out so great for them.

The Jets got Marshall for a 5th round pick… How about that for trolling

Jets’ fans don’t be upset by this. The Bears have to get in their shots because of all the stuff that hasn’t happened for them: they lost out on Arians and Bowles, they gave up on Marshall and then they let Matt go. Now, Matt went to Mr. Bowles’ team who just happens to have Mr. Marshall. I kept from commenting on the Forte signing earlier. Truly, I was trying to NOT get involved in this, but people, why pick on the JETS??? So, so petty. Again, at least the Jets had a chance last season and a QB to be proud of, unlike that million $$ man in Chi-town.

Kap is not available at this time and would cost $10M+ = RGIII is available and would cost next to nothing

The Bears are kings of the off season. It’s that Week 1 to Week 17 business where they stumble every year.

Jets fans have much to be grateful to Bears. We got Marshall (1,500 yds 14 td) & a 7th round pick that we used to acquire Z. Stacey for a 5th round pick last year. This year we acquire M. Forte who has missed about 8 gms in last 8 yrs for $2 mil per year less than injury prone C. Ivory. From my heart & head… thank you Chicago Bears.

How are the Jets not a legitimate NFL team?…according to some trolls. We’ve won a Super Bowl. Thirteen of the 3o NFL team have never won one….which is close to half the league. Plus the Bears have only won one. Just like us! Who are they to talk? We stole Marshall from them and they went in the crapper, while we got pretty good again.

    J!E!TS! JETS! JETS! JETS!

  20. dino2997 says: Mar 9, 2016 10:30 PM

Not much of a story except to get Jets fans excited. Considering their team doesn’t get them excited this will have to do.

The Bears have to getting in what shots?

How did they lose out on Bowles or Arians?

    Million dollar man?

You have to be the least knowledgeable NFCN fan in the history of the NFL. The Bears have a much better coach than Zimmer and Cutler has already been paid the bulk of that contract Emery gave him and is a total steal this year for the Bears. Cutler is also 10 times the QB Bridgewater could dream to be. Cutler has arguably the best arm in the league. Teddy has a noodle arm. At least know what you’re talking about before attempting to troll you mor0n!
