Giants hoping to steal the Jets’ Snacks

Pittsburgh Steelers v New York Jets

After hanging onto Jason Pierre-Paul for another year, the Giants want to make another big move to help fix their defensive line.

And they apparently don’t want to go far to do so.

According to the New York Daily News, the Giants are interested in signing Jets defensive tackle Damon Harrison.

The man known as “Snacks” is 12th in the PFT Free Agent Hot 100 list, and the highest-ranked member of that list whose future isn’t secure through a new contract or a tag.

The 27-year-old defensive tackle wouldn’t do much to help the Giants’ pass rush, but the 350-pounder has been a good run defender and would make things easier for those around him. It would also be a rare cross-MetLife Stadium move, which lends a certain energy to what would otherwise simply be a transaction involving a very big person.

The Giants already have former second-rounder Johnathan Hankins in the middle, and adding Harrison would give them the kind of mammoth interior which would help defense which ranked 24th against the run last year.
