The market hasn’t even opened yet, and the Texans have already lost and replaced a starter.
According to Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports, the Texans have signed Chiefs guard Jeff Allen to a four-year, $28 million deal, with $14 million in the first year.
That’s far less than the deal former Texans guard Brandon Brooks just took from the Eagles, a five-year, $40 million pact.
Allen has the ability to play both guard and tackle, and it’s unclear immediately what plans they have for him.
But he has an entirely new backfield to work with, as the Texans have already added quarterback Brock Osweiler and running back Lamar Miller in a busy afternoon.
