The Lions signed former Browns defensive back and special teams player Johnson Bademosi Thursday.

Bademosi, a former undrafted free agent who cracked the NFL in 2012 as kick cover man, signed a two-year deal that ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported is worth at least $4.5 million and as much as $6 million with incentives.

Bademosi, 25, was mostly a special teams player with the Browns, though he was pressed into duty at cornerback last season. He’s only missed two games in his four-year career and had a career-high 20 tackles last season.

He becomes the fifth Browns player to depart since the start of free agency. Bademosi was a candidate to stay through this latest Browns remodel because new head coach Hue Jackson retained special teams coach Chris Tabor.
