At a time when some teams reportedly were shying away from cornerback Brent Grimes because of his tempestuous, erratic, erotic-cake-baking wife, one team has decided to embrace the reality show waiting to happen.

Per multiple reports, the Buccaneers have signed Grimes to a two-year deal. The move reunites Grimes with Mike Smith, who coached Grimes for five years in Atlanta and who is Tampa’s defensive coordinator.

The move also comes with the abrupt decision of Miko Grimes to exit social media. As noted by Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald, Miko Grimes has pulled the plug on her Twitter account.

Her Twitter exit comes a day after she tweeted this, in response to concerns about her aggressive remarks on Twitter: “any1 that has a problem w/me, feel free to @ me w/ur concerns so i can quietly block u. otherwise, stop disturbing me, business is BOOMING!”

She also recently teed off (again) on Armando Salgueo of the Herald before the Dolphins released Brent Grimes with this prosaic love note: “the fat bitch armando thinks he’s safe from bullets bc we might be released is the funniest part of this whole thing.”

During the 2015 season, Miko Grimes was arrested outside Sun Life Stadium prior to a game, and she launched a Twitter tirade against quarterback Ryan Tannell, Salguero, and others. Tannehill later called her behavior a distraction. Salguero thereafter reported that the Dolphins had at least five conversations with Grims about Miko’s comments in the media.

Grimes was cut by the Dolphins after refusing to reduce compensation in the amount of $8 million in the third season of a four-year, $32 million deal.

It’s unclear whether the Buccaneers had any real concerns about Grimes. However, Brent and Miko got married in 2010, and she wasn’t a problem at any time before he left Atlanta. She first gained widespread attention in early 2015 with a pointed and passionate Twitter rant against the NFL that presaged his departure from Miami: “Brent signed a 4yr 32M contract with 16M guaranteed. U better believe he won’t see that other 16M!
