The Browns are in the first months of a rather significant shift in their front office operations and their approach to free agency thus far has been a measured one that’s seen several starting players leave for other teams while Cleveland has signed a couple of lower-profile players.

The Browns are taking a look at another possible addition on Tuesday. Kimberley Martin of Newsday reports that linebacker Demario Davis is meeting with the team.

Davis was a third-round pick by the Jets in 2012 and has played in every game for the team over the last four seasons. Davis started three games as a rookie and has started all 48 contests in the last three years, although Erin Henderson took some of his playing time in 2015. Davis had 313 tackles, 6.5 sacks and an interception in those appearances for the Jets.

Karlos Dansby started 16 games for the Browns at inside linebacker last year. Craig Robertson and Christian Kirksey also made starts inside, although Robertson may be heading elsewhere as a free agent.
