The Packers have been typically quiet on the free agent market this offseason, but they may go that route to shore up the tight end spot.

According to multiple reports, they had former Titans and Rams tight end Jared Cook in for a visit on Monday. It’s the first reported visit for Cook since the Rams released him in February along with defensive end Chris Long and linebacker James Laurinaitis.

Cook signed a five-year, $35 million contract with the Rams before the 2013 season, but his production didn’t justify keeping him around with an $8.3 million cap charge for 2o16. He had 39 catches for 481 yards last season and hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 13 of the 2014 season.

Cook won’t be getting anything close to that deal this time around and the Packers could use a tight end to go with Richard Rodgers next season. Should the Packers feel that playing with Aaron Rodgers will bring out something more in Cook, he could fill that role.
